Photos must be of you (the model) exemplifying the essence of Miss Spooky Scranton: frightening, strange, eerie, otherworldly, bizarre, mysterious, menacing, grim and/or gory, embodying an overall presence of Halloween, horror, the occult, etc.
Model must be 18 years or older to participate
Model must be from or currently live in Northeast Pennsylvania
Photos must be professionally or semi-professionally taken
- (Basically, not blurry please)
Please submit up to two (2) photos only
Photos must be a high-resolution JPEG, JPG, or PNG file
Photos preferably set at 300 DPI, horizontally oriented
Photo files cannot exceed 10MB each
No low-resolution, low-quality, grainy photos will be accepted

After Friday, September 16, 2022, no further photo submissions will be accepted
Applicable photos will move onto social media posting round on Monday, September 19, 2022 on the NEPA Horror Festival Facebook page
The public is welcome to like and share individual photo submission posts to increase daily likes or promote the contest
The social media posting round will last until Monday, September 26, 2022
The photo with the most likes on Facebook by this date will be given the title of "Audience Choice" as well as a distinct page in the 2023 calendar
All remaining applicable entered photos will then be judged based on criteria of creativity, quality, originality, responsiveness to the prompt, and overall impact

Scare us! We are seeking photos of models that embody frightening, strange, eerie, otherworldly, bizarre, mysterious, menacing, grim, gory, or otherwise, exude an overall presence of Halloween, horror, or the occult.
Get creative! We receive a lot of graveyard settings; consider all possibilities of environments not commonly accessed. Additionally, we seek interesting, well-thought-out answers to our application and post those answers along with your pictures. Think about how your answers will correspond with your photos.
Think thematically! Photos will be matched up with months, so consider the holidays when creating your photo.
Think horizontally! Our calendar format for photos is horizontal. To maximize your placement in the calendar, make sure your photos are horizontal and of the highest-quality format for printing.

Winners pertaining to each month will be officially announced at the Miss Spooky Scranton Ceremony first and then online after for those who do not attend
Attendance to the Miss Spooky Scranton Ceremony is highly encouraged for all applicants to obtain their recognition, crowns and sashes
The Miss Spooky Scranton Ceremony will take place on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at The V Spot Bar in Scranton

A limited run of calendars will be available for purchase at the NEPA Horror Fest
All 12 winners and Audience Choice entrants will win admission for themselves and one (1) guest into the NEPA Horror Film Fest and their own calendar
The winner officially crowned Miss Spooky Scranton 2023 will receive the October photo spot and front cover of the 2022 calendar as well as a $50 cash prize, official Miss Spooky Scranton crown and sash, and social media promotion
